New Tutorial up!

Turkey Hair Clip

Okay so this is Courtney, the obviously more quiet sister.  I decided to make cute Thanksgiving clips for my girls and wanted to share, hopefully you can follow my directions!

So first you want to get all your materials, I used:
3 different kinds of ribbon, you can use more but the more different colored and texture the cuter it's going to be.
Brown felt
Orange thread & needle
Google eyes
Hot glue gun
Craft clips
Straight pins
Sewing machine (optional)
large index card or paper to make your guide

Then you are going to trace your turkey guide out, I actually hand drew the body on my index card. I then cut it out and traced it on my felt and cut out 2 copies.

Then cut all your ribbon and arrange them around one copy of your turkey, I then took the second turkey and placed it behind the ribbon and pinned the whole thing together.

I used my sewing machine to sew everything together but you could hand sew or even use your hot glue gun.  I had a recent unfortunate event with the hot glue gun that ended up in 2nd degree burns (freaking mickey ears!) so I wanted to use it as little as possible.

You can see that my turkeys weren't completely aligned but this is the back and the stitch goes through all the ribbon so it will still work.

The front

Use your clips for guides and cut out two rectangles, these will go over the clip to protect the hair from the glue and make the clip a bit more sturdy.

Then I sewed my beak on, you don't have to sew it but the store was out of  orange felt.
You just make a triangle and then fill it in.

All filled in

Okay so I have no pictures from the actual gluing because I was a scared little baby so I'm going to try to explain it as best as I can.

The brown rectangle is going in between the clips sides

Here you can see how it will kind of look after it is glued, this is also how I hold it after I put the first strip of glue down.
First glue your google eyes on so you aren't fighting the clip and be very delicate with the glue, it seriously took a tiny amount.
To put the clip on I place the turkey back side up and then put a strip of glue, open the clip and place the curved side down in the glue. While holding it open with one hand I put another light strip of glue on the top of the clip that is already in the glue and then place the rectangle over the whole thing, I hold the clip open for a few seconds and then let it close.

Voila! Adorable Thanksgiving turkey hair clip.

Casual Fall OOTD

Hey pretties, today was gorgeous here in South West Missouri. It was one of those fall days that wasn't too warm and not too cold, like the neutral switch on the blow dryer. Today's look was a casual fall inspired look. I paired up a summer dress with a cardigan, adorable knee high knit socks, and riding boots. Not only was this outfit adorable on, but it was comfortable! "Beauty is pain" was not the case today.

Fall Vibes

Fall Day Fun!

Hey lovelies! Hunter typing. Today was absolutely gorgeous here in south west Missouri. It was one of those fall days where you were only inside if you were eating or going to the bathroom, or both (that'd be a little weird though). Today was spent taking pictures, kicking leaves up in the air, drinking yummy coffee, but most importantly laughing!
